“Well, I was here volunteer, and they said they was gonna open up a clinic. I was like well I want to be the first,” said Anderson.

Anderson was Patient #1 on day one of this new free eye exam clinic on Woodward Avenue. Now open the fourth Tuesday of every month here inside the Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan’s works of Mercy Center.

DETROIT, MI (WXYZ) — The Ford Motor Company Fund, Kare Mobile, My Community Dental Centers and Delta Dental of Michigan are joining forces to provide a mobile dental clinic for the people of Detroit.

The organizations hope the mobile van solves the issue of transportation access for Detroit residents.

The campaign will provide two fully outfitted Ford Transit van to two minority dental professionals looking to make a difference in the community.

Dr. Deborah Brown was presented with the first of the two vans Friday and will begin serving patients this spring.

The second van will be presented to registered dental hygienist and business owner Deanna Alexander later in the year.

ROCHESTER — A new commercial center with teeth is in the pipeline for southwest Rochester.

Plans to build a 7,100-square-foot, two story complex on North Frontage Road of Salem Road Southwest were filed by 12th Street Dental this week. It is slated to be built just northeast of Edina Realty‘s Rochester office building at 1301 Salem Road SW

The dental clinic, which already has a Rochester location at 1008 12th St. SE, acquired the land in the wake of it being approved for an office building project called North Hickory. The dental clinic project is larger than the one-story North Hickory plan, but it has a comparable footprint.

North Hickory was originally proposed by DK Fox Hill LLC, a Rochester development firm spearheaded by John Klopp. DK Fox built the Edina Realty building and a similar Edina West building at 1309 N. Frontage Road Salem SW.

HOUSTON – A local dental clinic operator was taken into custody on charges of tax evasion and failure to pay employment taxes, U.S. Attorney Jennifer B. Lowery announced Tuesday.

United States Attorney’s Office – Southern District of Texas said in a news release that the indictment, returned under seal on March 30, Jonathan Louis Lepow operated Lepow DDS.

He was allegedly the office and business manager responsible for payroll obligations and making tax payments to the IRS. Beginning in 2012, Lepow stopped paying employment taxes to the IRS, according to the charges.

The indictment further alleges Lepow avoided paying owed taxes to the IRS by opening and closing bank accounts, accepting cash payments for dental and other services and depositing revenue in bank accounts held in the name of other companies. These allegedly included Texas Center for Continuing Education, Lepow Properties LLC, American Dental Supply LLC, Lepow Management Inc. and
