A veterinary clinic and a new dental office might soon call the north side of Midland home.
On Tuesday, Midland’s Planning Commission met in a regular meeting to look over proposed site plans for new buildings for Animal Medical Center and McLaren Dental. Both plans involve expanding their respective businesses.
The vet clinic, currently located at 4925 Jefferson Ave., would move to 709 E. Wackerly St., next to Villa D’Alessandro & Tuscany Banquet Hall. The building would have a two-way circulation path around it and a comfort room, a private place for owners going through a traumatic situation.
Dr. David White, owner of Animal Medical Center, said the vet is looking to move because the current location is too small. That location will most likely shutdown when the center moves.
The dental office would be located at 6109 and 6115 Merlin Court, next another McLaren Dental office. The property was recently zoned to community commercial.
Matt Schauman, project manager at Cobblestone Homes & Cobblestone, said the expansion is to meet the needs of the facility. A new parking lot and medical office will be built on the property. The applicant is currently missing photometric and landscaping plans.
The commission will discuss these site plans again its next meeting on April 12.
